CHZ loses 12.5% following ChilizX withdrawal issue announcement

Crypto exchange ChilizX warned users about a ‘withdrawal issue’ related to the Chiliz Legacy Chain network. ChilizX, a dedicated platform for fan token trading, disclosed in an X post on Jan 22 a “withdrawal issue” related to the Chiliz Legacy Chain network, providing limited details on the nature of the issue. In the post, the ChilizX team recommended users opt for fan token withdrawals using an alternative network known as Chiliz Chain (CC2). Argo Blockchain shares plunge 8% following COO departure

Mining company Argo Blockchain has announced that its former interim CEO and COO Seif El-Bakly stepped down from his position to ‘pursue other opportunities.’ In an Operation Update report on Jan. 8, Argo Blockchain said that starting from Jan. 5, its former interim CEO and COO Seif El-Bakly is no longer with the firm. While the reason for his departure was not disclosed, the document notes that El-Bakly decided to explore “other opportunities.” El-Bakly served as Argo’s interim CEO from February to November 2023, follow ing the departure of the company’s former head, Peter Wall. The report highlights that since February 2023, the operations team has been reporting to Argo CSO Sebastien Chalus, who will continue to oversee all operations moving forward. Canadian crypto exchange CatalX suspends services following security incident

Canadian cryptocurrency exchange CatalX halted operations following a suspected insider job that resulted in a “security breach.” CatalX CTS Ltd., the Canadian crypto exchange operator, said in a press release on Dec. 28 that it had suffered a “ security breach” resulting in the loss of crypto assets held on behalf of its clients. Binance contemplates legal action following breakup with Checkout.com

Binance is considering legal recourse after payment processor Checkout.com abruptly decided to cut ties with the crypto exchange. Checkout.com’s letters of termination, issued on Aug. 9 and Aug. 11, allude to regulatory concerns, money laundering allegations, and compliance inquiries. Binance, however, asserts a contrary stance, stating that it does not agree with Checkout’s “rationale for termination.” The firm, under the helm of CEO Changpeng Zhao, is reportedly pursuing potential legal remedies.
