Coinbase hacker panics, loses $1 million in 2 days

The hacker behind the $300 million exploit targeting Coinbase users appears to be making costly mistakes in their trading moves involving Ethereum (ETH). On-chain Analysis indicates that on September 13, the hacker purchased 3,976 ETH worth $18.9 million at an average price of $4,756.  However, just two days later, they liquidated the same holdings for $17.98 million at $4,522 per token, according to Arkham Intel data retrieved by Finbold on September 15. Cross-Chain Bridge Altcoin Jumps As Coinbase Suddenly Announces Trading Support

The native token of a cross-chain bridge project is in the green after top US crypto exchange Coinbase suddenly announced its trading support. In a new Coinbase announcement, the platform says it is listing cross-chain bridge Across Protocol (ACX) for trading over the Ethereum (ETH) network. “Trading will begin on August 21st, 2024 at or around 12 pm ET if liquidity conditions are met. Coinbase Secures Perpetual Futures License For Non-US Clients

Coinbase has received approval from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) to offer perpetual futures trading services for non-U.S. clients. The exchange had previously received a class F license from the BMA to allow non-US institutions to trade perpetual futures. However, the exchange has received additional regulatory approval to extend the service to retail users. The derivative market represented 75% of the global crypto trading volume. As per DeFi Llama data, Solana’s TVL has decreased by 9.64% over the past month to sit at $358.96 million, while Base’s TVL has surged to $397.32 million. The total value locked (TVL) on Coinbase’s layer 2 network Base has surged to $397.32 million in roughly a month and a half since launching in August. That figure now places Base ahead of the Solana network in terms of TVL, which has $358.96 million at the time of writing. Coinbase begins $150M debt buyback at 36% discount

The cryptocurrency exchange's 2031 Senior Notes, which have a coupon rate of 3.625%, have $1 billion in outstanding principal. Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase will begin buying back up to $150 million of its 2031 Senior Notes for 64.5 cents on the dollar, or a discount of 35.5%. According to the Aug. 7 announcement, the tender offer will last until Sept. 1, with an early premium of three cents on the dollar on top of the regular purchase price. The 2031 Senior Notes have a coupon rate of 3.625% per annum and a total principal balance of $1 billion. Last month, the exchange redeemed $65 million in convertible notes at a discount of 29%. Binance is reportedly willing to  accept   voluntary terminations from employees. The offers, sent out recently according to Adam Cochran, a crypto influencer and analyst, allow employees to resign , sign a new non-disclosure agreement (NDA), and receive a severance package of three months’ salary.
